The Love In Us

Birthday Week.

I know it has been quite some time since there was a post on theloveinus I would deem as an extremely relevant one, thus this being the first in about a month or so.

If you guys have been following-up or keeping in contact with me, many of you should know I was struggling without a computer for a little over a month.  Oddly enough, I can honestly say though it was a pretty rough experience, a lot of good actually came from not having to stare at this computer screen all day.  Along with the upcoming .wav/es site, I also have pretty big plans for theloveinus’ street team entitled, “The Architects”.  There will be more updates on this a little later on, though some of you may be aware of it already.

This was my birthday week.  I opened up this week at the Cameo Gallery for my birthday performance, and I must say–that was the most fun I’ve ever had as an artist thus far.  There are times when you feel you are unappreciated, perhaps even the slight feeling that no one really cares about what you do as much you do… And then there are other times when it doesn’t matter.  You know people are there for you, and THAT’s what matters.  I want to thank each and everyone again who came out to see me perform on Tuesday, especially those who took the time to sign the poster I designed.

Thursday, August 12th I turned [__] years old.  It was great feeling to just hang with my friends.  I gave L the camera for the night to document our travels.

So now, not only do I have something to Remember this week forever, [great penis illustration on my poster, compliments of Demetri], I can consider this as a testament of my will and patience.  Sadly, I rely on my computer [much like everyone else does] to carry out most of my tasks throughout the day.  I couldn’t wait to get it back and running.  And now that I’m able to use it again I can get back to my normal life.  Design, work, inspiration, research and study.

Be on the look out for more updates on the Almost Remembered EP, laundry&luggage, basquiat & dali, theloveinus and .wav/es.
I’m finally back.

.wav/es

I put this site out last night with my buddy InfamousJeanClaude to showcase our extreme love for design and music.  We are handpicking a batch of songs each week and designing our own covers to portray the unique theme of each playlist.

We will also be taking user submissions over the next few days as we continue to clean up the backend of the site.  We will notify you guys when you will be able to send in your own playlist to us for your own custom cover design, based on our interpretation of your music choices.  The cover and the playlist will be posted promptly to the site for others to view and download.

Pursuit of Happiness

I enjoy doing these ‘mash-up’ posts with photos I dump from my camera.  I think they kind of tell their own story without me having to play the narrator.  Nonetheless, these photos tell a bit of what occured throughout the last week or so.

There’s a certain aura about these vinyl record shops, a guy that worked in the back was a bit rude to me but I guess it was because he thought I was just some ‘photographer’ trying to get some exposure or something.  Anyhow, this was quite the experience!  After my Uncles passing last year, I came across his old record collection and kept them for their nostalgic purpose.  I always saw them laying around the house as a kid, along with the huge laser discs sitting in a rack in my living room.  Although I was well aware of the importance of vinyl when it comes to DJ’ing, I never really took the time to admire the effort put into designing the vinyl sleeve.  It was a bit breathtaking to walk into a store covered from wall-to-wall with posters and inserts all dated back from the 60’s and 70’s, somewhat of an escape from your current indie-rock, retro-rap, whatever-you-wanna-callit.

I really wanted to get one of these bikes.  Not too shabby on the prices, I just would be really tempted to ride it all the way home and I’d probably get lost.

This is the coup de grâce of last week.  I won’t spoil this for you.

The Chukington Post X Midnight Marauders

Another great supporter.  I’ve known this dude from way back in High School.  Glad I linked up with him again.
